VIP member Promzy has released a picture, believed to be coming from his recent reported injury on set while shooting the group’s upcoming video.
The rapper over the weekend loaded a couple photos of himself; including one that displayed a deep cut on his right arm on social network facebook.
He released the photo less than a month after the incident took place. His action was perhaps to counter claims that his accident was mere media gimmick to generate some attention for the group’s upcoming video.
Promzy has not spoken yet about the incident. However he added a comment to the photo he posted saying, “this is what happens when you work with Mr. Kwesi Oduro.”
Peacefmonline.com who broke the story about Promzy’s injury on set reported that the rapper born Emmanuel Ababio was rushed to an unnamed hospital after jumping from a story building. 
According to the website’s source, he jumped from a storey building where it is believed his group was shooting a video.

Popular  R&B sensation, Chase, born Fianko Bossman touched down in Ghana, Saturday July 20 from his hide out in the United State of America ahead of his much anticipated album launch.
The singer hinted several months ago that his upcoming album will officially launch in August this year and it was one of the reasons he travelled to the USA to finalize works on his records.    
He tweeted about his arrival saying, “I'm back before you had the chance to miss me, straight from the airport to the studio with @TreasureHookah and my godfather @Gafacci.”
Close pal and actress Yvonne Nelson welcomed him a tweet, “My boy @chaseforever is backkkk......”
Chase seems to have some surprises in stash for his followers as he is planning to something else before he finally releases the new album.
According to him, he was considering a mixtape before he followed it up with the album.
“New music, im (I’m) considering a mixtape before the album #unappreciate @treasurehookahbeats by @gafacci,” he also revealed on instagram.
Chase recently wrapped the shoot of his upcoming video for his hit single, ‘Marry Me Tonight’ which will be on the upcoming album.
The new video was shot in some parts of New Jersey in the United States of America and it will be screened on some major channels in the USA and African continent including major platforms in Ghana.
It was produced by Itchy House and directed by Rock Davies. Chase starred alongside a hot video vixen in the new video, which’s concept explained as, “...a bitter sweet relationship of a girl I’m with. As if marriage will end the fights, I’m asking her to marry me because maybe that will give her some sort of security.” 
“Marry Me Tonight,” was released on St. Valentine’s Day this year and was comprehensively downloaded across continent.

Award winning rapper Okyeame Kwame on Wednesday led a delegation made up of doctors, philanthropists and journalists to call on Minister of Health, Sherry Ayitey to notify her about his free Hepatitis B screening initiative.
July 28 is World Hepatitis Day. Four years ago in 2009 as Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards, Okyeame Kwame began a journey to help educate and curb the Hepatitis B virus.
 As a Health Minister, Madam Sherry Ayitey was well abreast with the dangers of Hepatitis B. She lauded the rapper for his initiative and promised the delegation of government’s support during and after the screening.
Madam Ayitey added that, next year government will take much more active part in the entire process. The meeting was short but fruitful with the promise of better organization next year.
An excited Okyeame Kwame commented that he was excited to have met the minister and interacted with her.
Every year Okyeame Kwame, MDS-Lancet Laboratories and MTN Ghana Foundation conduct clinics around the country, screening and counselling people for free.

Star actress of both Ghana and Nigeria lineage, Yvonne Okoro has thrown her support behind women in Nigeria, who are fighting against a bill before Nigeria Senate to allow girls under the age of 18 to get married.   
“If the girl child isn’t old enough 2 [to] take part in election then she’s young enuff [enough] not to take an erection,” the actress tweeted few days ago.
Her tweet was accompanied by a campaign advertisement which read, “Give the Girl Child a Pen not a Penis,” to make obvious her position on the issue which has gained international attention.  
A lot other celebrities, especially those with Nigerian lineage are registering their strong displeasure with the supposed bill in Nigeria.
Omotola Jalade and Stella Damasus were reported in Nigerian media to have vented their anger over the girl child marriage discussion.

Star actress Lydia Forson has returned home after a month-long holidaying in the United States of America.
Lydia left Ghana early June and took part in some shows in the USA.
The popular and onetime African Movie Academy Awards Best Actress is one of Africa’s important personalities who graced this year’s edition of FACE List Awards which was held on Saturday June 15 at New York, Time Center. 
The bubbly Lydia Forson was invited as a special guest for the occasion while another Ghanaian actress, Jackie Appiah, was to receive an award there. 
Indeed, her fans missed her; but she has returned home over the weekend to continue her daily life in Ghana.
Signals picked up by NEWS-ONE indicate that she would very soon be traveling outside Ghana for a new movie project.

Star actress Yvonne Nelson has chalked another success in the area of filmmaking.  Over the weekend, she wowed Nigerian movie enthusiasts with the premiere of her last produced movie, House of Gold. The premiere, according to the actress, did better than her Single & Married movie, which she premiered in Nigerian cinemas last year. “It was very big and better than Single & Married,” Yvonne Nelson told NEWS-ONE. The premiering ceremony was held at the Silverbird Cinema Galleria, Victoria Island in Lagos.  All Cinema halls were full before the screening started.
Among celebrities who added colour to the screening event were cast Majid Michel, Eddie Watson, Yvonne Nelson, Rukky Sanda, IK Ogbonna, and actress Ebube. Director of ‘House of Gold’, Pascal Amanfo was also at the premiere.

Ghanaian actress, Zynnell Lydia Zuh and her extended family over the weekend buried her late grandmother Faustina Amba Mensah, who died at age 80. The old lady was on Saturday laid to rest at the Madina Cemetery after funeral rites at her residence at Abelemkpe in Accra.
Sources said Zynnell really loved her grandmother and would really miss her. She has been mourning as well as celebrating her granny.  
Zynnell has been in the news since last week. She celebrated her birthday on Thursday July 18.
 “My birthday means a lot to me. It’s a personal New Year so I believe it’s worth celebrating. It is also worth celebrating because every day is a gift; so a year is 365 times the gift,” she told NEWS-ONE.
Prior to her birthday, she was among personalities who were recognised at the just ended City People Awards in Nigeria.
She won Best Supporting Actress of the Year and beat equally good actresses Roselyn Ngissah, Kafui Danku, Emmanuella Mensah and Khareema Aguiar to emerge the winner of that category.

18-year-old, Hanniel Jamin, winner of Miss Universe Ghana 2013, has decided to join Ghana’s music scene even before her reign as Miss Universe Ghana 2013 comes to an end next year.  The queen and model on Monday, July 15 officially entered the music industry with the release of her first single of her upcoming album.
The new single is titled, “Don’t Leave,” was produced by Mr. Brown.
It is the first time; a queen who took part in the Miss Universe Ghana pageant is entering Ghana’s music industry and she is hopeful to rock shoulders with Ghana’s mainstream musicians and perhaps the world over.
Hanniel beat nine other contestants to be crowned winner of this year’s Miss Universe Ghana pageant that has been rocked with series of prize controversies after last year's winner Gifty Ofori complained about not receiving her full prize package.
Hanniel won GH¢5,000 worth of a wardrobe, a New York Film Academy scholarship, a management and public relations deal, and a one year gym membership and other packages. Hopes are that she would receive hers as promised.

Denise Williams, singer and former member of R&M, the group that won the first Vodafone Icons reality show has hinted her decision to go into gospel music.
The beautiful songstress’ decision has come months after she had been delivered from a “demonic spirit”, by a man of God at TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations.
She openly confessed at that deliverance ceremony that she was a witch.
After she was delivered, many of her fans doubted if the former lead singer of the R&M trio would continue with her music career.
But she says, “It’s only the genre of music that is changed. I will be doing gospel and of course inspirational songs like R. Kelly’s ‘I believe I can fly’”.
According to her, singing had become part of her life, hence she was not letting go. She is currently working on her first gospel single. “By His Grace, the best of me is yet to come,” she promised.
She is still with the Church of Synagogue, Lagos as she has volunteered herself to be taken through biblical teachings in order to build her spiritual life.
“…Following God was the best decision I ever made… I’ve learned much already and I’ll be sharing with you the testimonies single by single before the album. I pray for you each day and I pray that you accept the new me, I love you all,” she said to her fan base.

Denise will be returning to Ghana by the end of this month and many are hoping for a successful gospel music career for her.

Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has reportedly said her husband occasionally gets jealous when she kisses cute guys in movies.
According to Nollywood reports, she was asked on one of the social networks by a fan, “Does your husband get jealous when you kiss a guy in a movie?” The Ondo State-born actress replied, “Yes, if the guy is cute.”  But the beautiful actress did not mention the names of the actors who fall into the cute description.
Currently there is a wild hunt for the African actors who have been getting Omotola’s husband jealous.

  As part of his social responsibility, Ghana’s fastest rapper, Sarkodie, last Saturday donated items worth millions of Ghana cedis to underprivileged children at the Royal Seed Home Orphanage at Kasoa in the Central Region of Ghana.Among the items were food, toiletries, buckets and books. The gesture was to put smiles on the faces of the children and also ease any form hardship at the orphanage. It was also part of activities to mark his birthday celebration.

Popular Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah on Friday evening brought a number of her friends in Ghana’s entertainment industry, to witness the grand opening of her ultra modern beauty salon.
The salon which is located on the second floor of the Maa Bee Plaza, some few meters from Korldolf is named ‘Martha’s Place’.
It has an amazing décor, stocked with the state of the art beauty equipment and offers different services for both men and women, including manicure and pedicure. 
The grand opening on Friday evening introduced the general public to the salon. Some guests were offered free services. 
Among the Ghanaian celebrities who graced the occasion to support Martha were Prince David Osei, Majid Michel with his family, Roselyn Ngissah, Zynnell Lydia Zuh, Amanda Jissih, Gloria Sarfo, Famous Atitsogbe, Eddie Nartey, Vivian Achor, Harry Bentsil and a host of others.          
It was, indeed, an exciting opening ceremony as some of the celebrities danced to rhythms churned out by the DJ of the event.
Prayers were also said for Martha. After that a cake was cut to climax the opening ceremony.

A 20-year-old Building Technology student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Amabel Klutse has been crowned Miss Earth Ghana 2013.
Amabel beat 11 other contestants to the top prize, in the early hours of Saturday, at the pageant held at the National Theatre in Accra. She was trailed by Naomi Bafloe, who came second, Yayra Kuampah and Priscilla Agboada who came third and fourth respectively.
Klutse got a cash award of GH¢5,000, another GH¢5,000 worth of sponsors’ goods and products, an official car, official wardrobe and will represent Ghana at the Miss Earth International pageant. Bafloe (Miss Earth Air) will receive GH¢3000, home theatre set, official wardrobe and a ticket to participate in an international event while Kuampah (Miss Earth Water) and Agboada (Miss Earth Fire) will respectively get GH¢1500 and GH¢1000 worth of consolation prices. An event that saw the reigning Miss Earth Tareza Fajsova in attendance, the 2013 finals also saw some musical performances from EL, Eazzy and Yaayaa among a host of other entertainers.

Three-time Grammy Award winning American Gospel singer Donnie McClurkin, shed tears during an encounter with Ghanaian media on Friday evening ahead of his concert in Accra on Saturday evening.
Donnie was in tears when he revealed to the Ghanaian media that at age nine he was raped by an uncle and his life became devastated until he accepted Christ into his life that same year. 
Donnie said that was the high point of his life. He was emotional about it, hence the tears.
On Saturday night, Donnie joined a line-up of the most influential Ghanaian gospel icons and brought an ultimate worship experience to Christians who thronged the Accra Sports Stadium for the Ghana Stands In Worship concert.
He performed some of his popular songs to the glory of God. There were also spirited performances by Rev. Bernard Blessing, No Tribe, Cecilia Marfo, Mary Ghansah, Miriam of MTN Hit Maker fame and a host of others.

Stakeholders in Ghana’s modelling industry can heave a sigh of relief with the introduction of Ghana Models Award (GMA) to honour creativity in that sector of the creative industry. 
Aiming to be one of the glamorous annual award events in Ghana, the GMA will be rewarding and encouraging deserving individuals with evidential records of excellence in the modelling industry in Ghana.
GMA would be targeting models of Ghanaian origin or nationality as well as models from other countries who are active in the modelling community in Ghana.
The event will also seek to award corporate bodies and personalities that have supported and contributed to the modelling community in Ghana.
Basically the Ghana Models Awards 2013 will be promoting the ‘modelling culture’ in Ghana by strongly encouraging upcoming models and inviting new modelling talents into this highly competitive industry.

Nigerian supermodel Oluchi Orlandi is expected to touch down in Accra sometime this week ahead of the much anticipated audition for the upcoming Africa Next Top Model reality TV show.

The event is Africa’s version of hit reality TV show competition, America’s Next Top Model by Tyra Banks.
The show will be hosted by Oluchi Orlandi in far away South Africa, but currently she is scouting the continent for models for the big project.
Oluchi was born in 1982 and rose to fame in 1998 when she won the maiden edition of the Face of Africa model contest at age 17. She has since worked with designers, John Galiano, Christian Dior, Chanel and her designer husband, Luca Orlandi.
She currently runs her production outfit, LuLu Productions which will produce the African version of the America’s Next Top Model reality show.
 CBS Studios International has licensed the African format rights for the reality competition series, America’s Next Top Model, to New York-based LuLu Productions.
Africa’s Next Top Model will be produced by Lulu Productions along with Never Machine Productions and will air pan-regionally throughout Africa in 2013 on MNET Africa Magic channels. Nigerian supermodel Oluchi Orlandi will serve as Executive Producer and host.

Model and rising Ghanaian actress Doris Nsowah, says she could do anything for money except drugs, money rituals and sex.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with NEWS-ONE, Doris who is popularly called Maafya among her friends said she is a business-minded person and liked to do everything lawfully in business to make money.
Though sex is another form of trade or business for some women in some parts of the world, she thinks otherwise.   
Hear her: “Sex is a normal thing which is attached in our daily life. So I don’t see why I should sex for money. So all my ladies out there, my advice for you is; life is full of turns and upside downs but that shouldn’t prompt you to do anything which is not of God. Worldly things are all vanities. Be content with what you have, be prayerful and be a hard working person. With God all things are possible.”
Doris is a model and an actress. She used to model at Rony Modeling Agency until she started acting last year.
Her first movie was ‘Snake Under Grass’ and has since featured in others including ‘Tears Of A Smile’, ‘Single & Married’, ‘Bloody Stains’ and ‘Letters To My mum’.
The series she featured in were ‘Wofa K’, ‘Afia Schwarzenegger’ and ‘Bema Nkwan’, which is not yet out. She looks up to top actresses Yvonne Okoro, Luckie Lawson and Nadia Buari.
She attended Presbyterian Junior High at Michel Camp and continued at Akumadan Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region. She subsequently went to IPMC where she acquired her OUC (Office User Certificate). From there she went to NIIT and continued her tertiary education at the Regent University.

Who is Doris? Tell me a little about yourself?

Doris:  Doris is a cool person, very humble and easy to deal with. Doris is a person who will do anything for money but not as what you think …(laugh). Doris is a respectable person and can be naughty in some aspects.

Interesting; so what can't you do for money?

Doris: Some are drugs and money rituals. But I deal strictly with business that will gain me a good income.

Is sex inclusive the business you referring to? If no, why not? If yes, why that direction?

Doris: No sex is not included.

Why not? Lots of ladies believe in sex or relationship for money. You will do anything for money; why not sex?

Doris: Sex is a normal thing which is attached in our daily life. So I don’t see why I should have sex for money.

What will be your advice to those who do that for money?

Doris: All my ladies out there my advice for you is; life is full of turns and upside downs but that shouldn’t prompt you to do anything which is not of God. Worldly things are all vanities. Be content with what you have, be prayerful and be a hard working person. With God all things are possible.

You are one of Ghana's rising actresses, how did you start acting? Is it your dream to act?

Doris: Acting is something that I have yearned for and love to do. Acting is part of my career. I started acting through a good man called Edmund Quashie, also known as shanghai. I am always thankful to him because he has brought me far in the movie industry. I used to model at Rony Modelling Agency before I got myself into acting.

What was your first movie experience like?

Doris:  Omg, it was so fun and interesting because I nailed it. It was so fun and interesting.

Which movie was it?

Doris: I first did a local movie and the title is ‘Snake Under Grass’.

What year?
Doris:  Last year (2012)

Which other movies have you done?

Doris: I have done series as well. I did Tears Of A Smile. I was part Of Single & Married, Bloody Stains which will be coming out soon, and Letters To My Mum. I did the series Wofa K, Afia Schwarzenegger and Bema Nkwan. But Bema Nkwan is not yet out.

What does it take to be an actress in this part of the world?

Doris:  Determination and passion for it. If you are determined, nothing can stop you. I’m moving with vim.

What are your impressions about the Ghana movie industry?

Doris: Some of the movies follow the same storyline, nevertheless some motivate me. Some are ‘House of Gold’ and ‘Wanna Be’.

They say producers sleep with actresses for roles. How true is that? Have you suffered a harassment of a kind?

Doris: Some are true and some are false. But I have never encountered such harassment before.

Are you married?
Doris: ..laugh, No I’m not.

But is there someone and would you mind sharing his identity with us?

Doris: Yes, and not really.

Who is he? Is he an industry person?

Doris: Won’t expose it now (laughed). He’s someone who is so dear to me and I love him so much.

Where do you come from?

Doris: I come from Assin Fosu, Kennedy Agyapong’s hometown.

Doris:  I went to Presbyterian Junior High at Michel Camp and continued at Akumadan Senior High School at the Brong Ahafo Region. After my three years in secondary, I went to IPMC and did OUC (Office User Certificate). From there I went to NIIT and continued my tertiary at the Regent University.

Apart from acting what do you do now?

Doris: I work with Direct Health Network as a marketer. We deal in Impulse Energy Drink and Ginseng Up.

Your hobbies?
Doris:  Singing, acting and dancing.
