Three-time Grammy Award winning American Gospel singer Donnie McClurkin, shed tears during an encounter with Ghanaian media on Friday evening ahead of his concert in Accra on Saturday evening.
Donnie was in tears when he revealed to the Ghanaian media that at age nine he was raped by an uncle and his life became devastated until he accepted Christ into his life that same year.
Donnie said that was the high point of his life. He was emotional about it, hence the tears.
On Saturday night, Donnie joined a line-up of the most influential Ghanaian gospel icons and brought an ultimate worship experience to Christians who thronged the Accra Sports Stadium for the Ghana Stands In Worship concert.
He performed some of his popular songs to the glory of God. There were also spirited performances by Rev. Bernard Blessing, No Tribe, Cecilia Marfo, Mary Ghansah, Miriam of MTN Hit Maker fame and a host of others.
The concert was powered by Imajin Advertising with support from Bernard Blessing Ministries and proudly brought to Ghanaians by MTN, with support from UniBank, Janaam Car Rental, Sign Language, Exquisite Decor and refreshment by Coca Cola and Specia
l Ice Mineral Water.
