Ghana Movie Awards Announces Deadline For 2013 Entries

Organizers of Ghana Movie Awards, Gollywood Productions Limited, has announced a deadline for entries for the 2013 edition.

Prince Tsega, general manager of the award, in a release issued, said: “We wish to remind all movie producers who are interested in participating in the up coming 4th Ghana Movie Awards, that the extended deadline for the submission of entries for the event is November 15, 2013.”

Interested producers are to download entry form at www.ghanamovieawards.com  and fill it and submit to the Film Producers Association of Ghana, (FIPAG) offices in Accra at COSGA premises and Kumasi before November 15, 2013.

The fourth edition of the Ghana Movie Awards will come off at the Accra International Conference Centre on December 30, 2013.

The award, which commenced in 2010, is aimed at promoting excellence in the Ghana movie industry as well as in the African region.
Fred Nuamah, the CEO of the award ceremony over the weekend, revealed the award was not just about celebrating talents in the movie industry but also had social significance.
He as a result pledged a sum of GH¢50,000 from Ghana Movie Awards Foundation to support Kwabena Kwabena’s “Save A Life” charity event on Saturday to raise funds for the National Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

JJ Bunny’s High Budget Gambian Movie Hits Ghana

Actress JJ Bunny’s Gambian movie project titled ‘Groom’s Bride’, featuring some award-winning Gambian actors and Ghanaian lead actors Majid Michel and Jackie Appiah, will hit Ghanaian silver-screens this month.  The movie will be premiered at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra on June 29 via a grand red carpet ceremony, which is anticipated to bring visiting actors to town. The movie was directed by Frank Rajah for Abdul Salam’s Venus Film Production. The movie, shot last year, is Venus’ first movie in Gambia. Venus is yet to answer critics why the production was done in Gambia.   JJ Bunny came down from her Houston base last November for the movie in Ghana. After the movie, she travelled to Ghana. She has since remained in Africa as she has been bombarded with movie scripts. She has been described as a Nollywood US A-List actress residing in the United States.
