Two talented Ghanaian actors, Leonora Okine and Chris Attoh have been mentioned among the cast of MTV Base awareness series, Shuga. This comes not long after both actors exited popular Mnet produced soap, Tinsel.
Leonora exited Tinsel late last year after her contract expired while Chris Attoh on the other hand allegedly left his role vacant some few weeks ago. It is, however, the first time Ghanaian actors have made it on Shuga which is aired to millions of TV aud

Shuga is a TV series that was first aired in November 2009 on MTV Base as part of an initiative dubbed MTV Staying Alive Ignite. It was commissioned by MTV Networks Africa in association with The MTV Staying Alive Foundation.
It is part of a powerful 360-degree mass media campaign designed to raise awareness about HIV prevention and teen pregnancy in Nigeria.
Key themes covered by the series include living with HIV; disclosing your status; getting tested; condom use; gender based violence; gender equality; women’s empowerment; family planning; teen pregnancy; transactional sex; multiple concurrent partners; stigma and discrimination of people living with HIV; and parent/child relationships/communication.
The series is to be produced by MTV Base and the MTV Staying Alive Foundation in collaboration with NACA; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; and UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund). PEPFAR (The US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) has also expressed a commitment to join forces with the campaign.
Other cast named for the series include Maria Okanrende, Tiwa Savage, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Okezie Morro, Emmanuel Ikubeseand and Nick Mutuma.
Leonora Okine and Chris Attoh, are currently doing impressively well in Nigeria’s Nollywood industry. They have since last year been part of major productions in Nigeria and obviously raising Ghana’s flag high out there.
