I Hope To Sell A Million Copies of My Latest Album- Kwabena Kwabena

Kwabena Kwabena
High Life musician Kwabena Kwabena says he is hoping to sell over a million copies of his latest album, titled ‘Daakye’.
The ‘Aso’ crooner has made this expectation known at a time concerns are being expressed about falls in the sales of music albums in Ghana.
Kwabena on Monday July 1, officially launched his fourth album at a short ceremony at the Silver Lounge at the Accra Mall.
He used the ceremony to announce his upcoming nationwide tour and expressed his hopes to break new barriers with the 10-track album.
The new album features songs as ‘Adult Music’ featuring Samini, ‘Engya me Ho’, featuring Jojo, ‘Bye Bye’ featuring Asem and another with Sarkodie. He also has a gospel song on the album.
He told Journalists including NEWS-ONE that the new album won’t just inspire a brighter future for his career but also Ghana’s high life music industry.

“We realized that the trend in Ghana now is rap but we want to use this album to encourage people to embrace high-life music. Basically the Daakye album is to tell everyone that high-life music still exists,” he said.
He acknowledged that there had been a fall in album sales for the reason that a lot of artistes have been doing singles.

Contributory factor to the problem, he noted, was the fact sometimes, out of an album, only one song usually becomes a hit. That does not encourage people to buy other albums.
Sensational Ghanaian R&B musician Chase Fianko Bossman shared a similar opinion on the topic last week in an interview with NEWS-ONE.
But Kwabena Kwabena is hoping to sell over a million copies whatever the case may be because, “I have got more than four hit songs on this album. We also have a distribution network that is touching base with the people. Copies of the album will be available at Silverbird Lifestyle Shop. We are collaborating with some fuel stations to sell at their shops as well. ATL has also come onboard to support. When people buy ATL fabrics, they will receive a copy of the album.” “I hope to sell over a million copies,” he added.
