First Reggae & Dancehall Award Launches Friday

Bass Awards, the first ever award scheme to reward talents in  Africa’s Reggae and Dancehall music industry, is set to hit Ghana’s music scene this year.
The award is presented by a company called Rackus and powered by Bullhaus Entertainment and Solid Multimedia, two of Ghana’s influential entertainment houses.
It will be launched in Accra on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Alisa Hotel from 6pm.
The launching event, which is anticipated to attract various stakeholders in Ghana’s entertainment industry, will be used to announce award’s date, explain categories and introduce the award to the industry.  
Bass Awards is the first of its kind to recognize talents in Reggae and Dancehall music industry which has arguably become big.

JJ Bunny’s High Budget Gambian Movie Hits Ghana

Actress JJ Bunny’s Gambian movie project titled ‘Groom’s Bride’, featuring some award-winning Gambian actors and Ghanaian lead actors Majid Michel and Jackie Appiah, will hit Ghanaian silver-screens this month.  The movie will be premiered at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra on June 29 via a grand red carpet ceremony, which is anticipated to bring visiting actors to town. The movie was directed by Frank Rajah for Abdul Salam’s Venus Film Production. The movie, shot last year, is Venus’ first movie in Gambia. Venus is yet to answer critics why the production was done in Gambia.   JJ Bunny came down from her Houston base last November for the movie in Ghana. After the movie, she travelled to Ghana. She has since remained in Africa as she has been bombarded with movie scripts. She has been described as a Nollywood US A-List actress residing in the United States.
