Actress Belinda Effah is embarking on a campaign against rape as a social canker and urging everybody to desist from the act.
She has already begun a tour of some select secondary schools in Lagos, days after she touched down in Nigeria after she completed the shoot of her latest movie titled ‘Refugees in Ghana’.
Nollywood reports said she talked to students about rape and its consequences, as it was preached in ‘Kokoma’, a movie she played lead in, in which her character was raped.
This year, the beautiful actress won a number of awards based on her performances in movies.
She won best upcoming Actress at Bon Awards, GIAMA Awards in US: A group in her home State Uyo also honoured her.
Belinda explained she decided to partner an NGO, Project Alert for Rape, because of the alarming increase in rape cases reported daily.
“I think we should do more to protect our young girls. I shall surely do more and I will join hands with whoever is interested in this project to eradicate rape from our society,” she told Bononline.
She told NEWS-ONE, “Oh yes I did tell girls to stop raping the boys.”
