Movie Director Frank Rajah To Snub Majid Michel & Top Other Ghanaian Stars

Frank Raja & Majid Michel on Somewhere In Africa set
Award winning Ghanaian director Frank Rajah is ready to start shooting his next film, with the working title ‘The Refugees.
The film’s script is touted as Frank’s best yet and he is making frantic efforts to raise the bar with it.
Shooting is scheduled to begin Thursday on some mind-blowing locations in Ghana including parts of James Town, a coastal suburb of Accra.
Frank will make extensive use of the coastline as some scenes will be shot on ships at one of the country’s harbours.
Sources said the director, whose movie provided Africa’s best actor (Majid Michel) at the last African Movie Academy Awards, might for the first time do away with the majority of the usual faces on Ghanaian TV screens.
“The likes of Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro, Prince David Osei and a number of others who are part of Frank’s clique of actors might not make it on this movie’s set,” sources told NEWS-ONE.
“This movie is coming with lots of surprises and the casting is just one area of it. He is targeting a different market with this movie and he needed to strategize differently to get there. Also, there is great need for Frank to up the stakes. Obviously things have changed and he is stepping up. Just watch out for an entirely new stuff from Frank Rajah,” the source added.
Even though identities of the cast are yet to be made public, indications are that some of them are UK based actors.
