Born Yayra Ametewee, her stage name is Yayra. She is a very cool and appealing young lady dedicated to building and exploring her God given talent, music, for the whole world to see.
Yayra is also an old student of Archbishop Porter Girl's High School and currently studying at the Central University College.
 She recently introduced herself to the music industry by sharing the
same stage with Samini, Keche, V.I.P, Kaaki and Bradez at the All Star Revolution Concert held by Homeproud Events in Kumasi. She performed her first single, ‘Get On It’
Identifying her talent of singing, rapping and dancing at a tender age of 11, music has become part of her life. She does more of Afro hip pop, RNB, and hip pop and is inspired by her environment and things she hears every day in life.
Yayra is enjoying massive airplay with ‘Get On It’ and is yet to release her second single which she calls an “instant hit”.

Luckie Lawson’s Villa Garden Turns Mangoase

Star actress Luckie Lawson has gone local with her restaurant business. Two years ago, the beautiful actress and mother of one closed down her Villa Garden restaurant at Asylum Down and left to the United State of America. At the time, everybody thought she was saying goodbye to her restaurant business but she bounced back late last year to continue the business. In December, Luckie opened her new place for the media for food tasting. She changed the name from Villa Garden to Mangoase and this is located at East Legon, adjacent Del International Hospital. It is a few minutes’ drive from the PH Hotel, the former Protea Hotel. Like her former Villa Garden, the place is becoming the hub of some of Ghana’s celebrities who pass through to have lunch. It’s one of the latest food joints in East Legon. Mangoase serves tilapia and banku, fufu and all kinds of soup, rice and stew, omotuo, tuozaafi and more.


Leila, Shirley, Ama K, Others For UK Awards

Two Ghanaian female directors, Leila Djansi and Shirley Frimpong Manso, have taken their supremacy in Ghana’s movie industry to the UK where their movies, ‘Sinking Sands’ and ‘Perfect Picture’ are set to win awards. The two movies were nominated for the Favourite West African Film category of UK’s prestigious Screen Nation Awards scheduled for October 16 in London at the O2 Indigo. The award ceremony is one of UK’s finest whichhas been at the forefront of acknowledging the best in Black British talent for over seven years. Founded by renowned film producer Charles Thompson MBE, its primary aim is to acknowledge the achievements of those with the industry over the course of 12 months. Hosted by husband and wife team Angellica Bell and Michael Underwood, the calibre of this year’s recipients promises to be exceptional. In the past, it nominated and honoured top names as Horace Ove, Will Smith, Eamonn Walker, Spike Lee, Danny Glover, Floella Benjamin, Angela Bassett, Nia Long, Rudolph Walke…
