Crentsil, an 18-year-old young model and female winner of the July edition of
the Exopa Modeling Agency’s New Faces Contest, is optimistic nothing will stop her
from pursuing her career as a model.
“I
want to go far. I know there will be a great breakthrough for us Ghanaian
models one day,” she said in an exclusive interview with NEWS-ONE.
The
former student of Mfantsiman Girls Senior High and modeling student at the
Exopa Modeling Agency is not perturbed by what people say. She is less concerned
because her family supports her passion for modeling.
“My
family appreciates my career, especially my mum. She has been supportive in
this. She has been advising me on what to do and she amazes me. She was
actually the one who supported me to come to Exopa and I love it because that
has always been my passion. I always wanted to be a model.”
Araba’s
catwalk was exceptional during the Exopa contest.
She
often describes herself as “an interesting lady who loves modeling, making
friends and has obsession for speaking the phone”.
She
is the last born in her family. She comes from Anomabo in the Central Region of
Ghana and attended Mfantsiman Secondary School
where she studied home economics. She is currently waiting to enter the university.
Even
though she did not engage in extracurricular activities like sports in school,
her passion for modeling made her join a modeling group while.
“I’d
always wanted to be a model since I was a kid. Just for the fun of it, I joined
the group in school. I have been watching America’s Next Model as well.”
According
to her, winning the Exopa competition was kind of a surprise to her. She went into
the competition without too much hope that she was going to win because she
took part in previous editions and did not win.
“But when I was called among the best six,
then I knew I was going to win this time.”
“The
show had made me more confident,” she added.
