The Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) awards has
been endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism in Ghana.
The annual awards ceremony, now in
its third year, showcases and
celebrates excellence and achievement within the British-Ghanaian community as
well as the outstanding and valuable services provided to Ghanaians in
the UK and Ghana.
The Minister of Tourism, Akua Sena Dansua, said in
a letter, “GUBA’s role in recognising the achievements of Ghanaians in
the UK was important in helping to promote Ghana and the
national interest.”
The GUBA team expressed its delight and gratefulness
for the support from the Ministry of Tourism, as it was another boost for the
organisation that was also endorsed by the
Ghana High Commission to the UK and Ireland.
GUBA awards 2012 will take place in November
and will be a star-studded night which will feature well-known public figures,
entrepreneurs, personalities from the world of sports and entertainment.
GUBA awards is now in its third
year and following a spectacular 2011 ceremony, preparations are firmly
underway for the 2012 edition on 10th November 2012 at the Park
Plaza Hotel, River Bank London.
The GUBA awards is a non-profit ceremony celebrating the
excellent achievements of Ghanaians living in Britain and acknowledging the
valuable services of UK-based organizations to Ghanaians in the UK or Ghana.
GUBA aims at extending the awards to the wider African community in the
UK.
