I Enjoy What I Do & Do It Well -Exopa New Face Winner

Janet Afi Esinam Adzie
Nineteen-year-old Janet Afi Esinam Adzie will, tomorrow, Saturday, July 28 end her reign as the female winner of Exopa New Faces contest last month.
She told NEWS-ONE in an exclusive interview that it had been an exciting period as a winner of the contest which had for the past months served as a platform for wannabe models to master their acts.
Janet said pageantry was not something she was scared of. This was because she had been part of two pageants before joining Exopa New Faces.
In 2010, she took part in Miss SHS and won. She partook in traditional pageant called Miss Teshie and she was the first runner-up.
Joining Exopa New Faces contest was to help further enhance her modeling talent and enjoy the runway experience.
“When I started, it for was the fun of it but later I started taking it serious, therefore I decided to join Exopa. Indeed the show boosted my confidence. I don’t feel shy, I enjoy what I do and do it well. The show was competitive because the other girls were equally good but eventually I won.
“Somebody asked me if I was going to win and I told him I was going to be in the last six. I didn’t know I will win. But I was not surprised I won,” she added.
Janet is the third born and the only girl of four children. Her parents hail from the Volta Region. While her mum comes from Amedzofe, her dad is from Keji.
Janet completed Swedru Senior High School and is about to enter the University of Ghana.
Growing up, Janet wanted to become a lawyer and she still holds on to that dream despite her modeling career. She admires Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell and loves Becca and her music.
Currently, her parents approve of her modeling career, adding, “My mum is supportive of my career in modeling and pageantry. She attended all my shows and I’m proud of her.”
