I Didn’t Anticipate Winning Exopa New Face-Odey Ibrahim

Odey Ibrahim Peter
“I’m a regular fun-loving guy. I’m quiet, depending on the setting. I have different characters at home and when I’m outside,” male winner of Exopa New Faces Odey Ibrahim Peter has described himself in an interview with NEWS-ONE on Wednesday afternoon.
Odey is from Cross-River State, Nigeria but was born in Lagos. He started school at the Brightland College, Apapa Nigeria. Currently, he is in Ghana studying at the Radford University.
He is the second born and the only boy among five sisters. He wants to be a surgeon later in life and admires one Dr Robert Rey from the United State of America.
Ibrahim was chosen among 20 models out of over 60 wannabe models that auditioned.
He went ahead to win the male category of the show to his amazement.
“I am happy. Coming to Ghana was basically for school but now I am in the newspapers and my family is proud of me.”
Odey said he joined the Exopa contest for two reasons. One was because a friend of his encouraged him to try and the second was because he was following in the footsteps of his mentor Dr. Robert Rey, who at a point in his life was a model.
“I was reading about his life and I realized he was a model as well. So I tried to follow in his footsteps,” he emphasized.
He described his first experience on the runway in front of expectant audiences as “cool”.
“It was really cool. I thought I was going to be shy but I tried to put up come crazy attitude. It felt like its being something I have been doing for a long time.
“I didn’t anticipate winning. I thought the guy who was third was going to win because he was taller than me. I was surprised I won.”
