Selassie Supports Needy With Smart People Anniversary


As part of the first anniversary of TV lifestyle magazine, ‘Smart People’, hostess and producer of the show, Selassie Ibrahim and her Smarttys Management and Production company made a number of donations in Accra last week.
She made donations at the Solid Rock Academy Foundation in Kwabenya and Osu Children’s Home.
She will also make donations at the Aged Home and Weija Leprosarium at Weija as well as organise a cleaning campaign in some parts of Accra.
There will also be a dinner dance and a thanksgiving service to wrap up the first anniversary celebration of Smart People.  
The items she donated last week included food items and toiletries worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
She first presented items to the General Overseer of Solid Rock Chapel International, Reverend Christie Doe-Tetteh, who is the founder of the academy, to help cater for the needy children undergoing basic education at the school. Rev. Doe-Tetteh was full of gratitude and urged more Ghanaians to support her school and similar institutions.
Selassie Ibrahim promised to continue supporting the children of the Solid Rock Academy Foundation.

JJ Bunny’s High Budget Gambian Movie Hits Ghana

Actress JJ Bunny’s Gambian movie project titled ‘Groom’s Bride’, featuring some award-winning Gambian actors and Ghanaian lead actors Majid Michel and Jackie Appiah, will hit Ghanaian silver-screens this month.  The movie will be premiered at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra on June 29 via a grand red carpet ceremony, which is anticipated to bring visiting actors to town. The movie was directed by Frank Rajah for Abdul Salam’s Venus Film Production. The movie, shot last year, is Venus’ first movie in Gambia. Venus is yet to answer critics why the production was done in Gambia.   JJ Bunny came down from her Houston base last November for the movie in Ghana. After the movie, she travelled to Ghana.
