Nigerian Actress ‘Stranded’ Over Movie Premiere In Ghana

Uche Joan

Nigerian actress and Cheaters’ star Uche Joan Iwuanyanwu, according to reliable information somehow got ‘stranded’ yesterday at the Mutala International Airport in an effort to fly down to Ghana.
The beautiful actress was supposed to be in Ghana for last night’s premiere of the sequel of the movie titled, ‘Cheaters’ in which she was featured.
However, she didn’t make it to Ghana at all and NEWS-ONE has received conflicting reasons to why she didn’t make it.
Sources told this paper yesterday that she won’t be in Ghana because, “Uche went to Mutala International Airport in Lagos to purchase her tickets for her trip to Ghana but there was no vacant seat for her. She was late. I don’t know why she decided to wait all this while till the last day to purchase her ticket.”
However, when the actress was contacted, she said, “I am busy and that is why I can’t make it to Ghana today for the premiere. I really wish to be in town.”
It was difficult to tell who was telling the truth. But it was obvious she didn’t attend the premiere last night.
Uche Joan Iwuanyanwu is one of Nollywood’s fast rising actresses. She hails from Mbano Local Government area of Imo State and is an Economics graduate from the University of Jos, Plateau State.
She has been acting since 2009 and featured in a few Ghana and Nigeria collaborated movies.
She was in Ghana few months for the premiere of ‘Cheaters Book 1’ in which she played an amazing role alongside Jackie Appiah, Adjetey Anang, Omar Sheriff Captan, Chichi Neblett, Okawa Shaznay and others.
After that premiere she told NEWS-ONE in an exclusive interview that her first experience on set as an aspiring actress was not a pleasant one.
According to her, she was told in the face by a makeup artiste that she was not a star, therefore there was no need making her up for her close-up shots. However, she did not allow that experience to derail her dream of becoming one of Africa’s most celebrated actresses. She overlooked it and did what she was supposed to do in the movie perfectly and now she is on the rise.
