After the epic battle with Akorfa Ejeani Asiedu,
‘Opera Square Mafia,’ piracy and many reported betrayal from her close
associates, Ghana’s international writer, director and producer, Leila Djansi
has finally pitched a permanent camp in Hollywood.
She is currently debuting with indie drama titled, “And
Then There Was You’, which is
starring a number of Hollywood big names. Even though, Ghana’s award
winning director, Tony Prince Tomety has been flown to the USA to work on the
production, no Ghanaian actor has made it on the set.

Interestingly reports from Nollywood said
Nollywood actor Jim Iyk and Nigerian born American actress Ebbe Bassey are
playing supporting roles in the film.

Weeks ago the Hollywoodreporter.com reported that Garcelle Beauvais
stars in the film as a teacher who has to pick up the pieces of her life after
her husband leaves. When she falls for a new man, she discovers he, too, has
possible relationship-ending secrets. Djansi wrote the script while Suzanne
Patrick, Ryan Daly and Tim Taylor are producing the movie and Dave Harper is
the executive producer.
Also in the movie are Lynn Whitfield, Greg Vaughan, Leon Robinson, Kate
Nauta and Trilby Glover. Shooting starts in May in Los Angeles. The project is
being made as a Turning Point Pictures production in association with OHTV,
headed by Akin Salami and Michael Djaba.

Beauvais most recently appeared
as Denzel Washington’s ex-wife in Robert Zemeckis’
‘Flight’ and next plays the first lady to Jamie Foxx’s
president in Sony’s upcoming summer tentpole, ‘White House Down’. She will guest star in an episode of
USA's ‘Necessary Roughness’.
Garcelle Beauvais (born November 26, 1966) is a Haitian actress, singer,
and former fashion model best known for her roles as Francesca “Fancy” Monroe
on The WB television sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, which ran from 1996 to
2001, and as Valerie Heywood on the ABC crime drama, NYPD Blue.
