Spirited Actor star Umar Krupp has netted a deal for his Nollywood debut and currently in Nigeria shooting with celebrated Nollywood actors including Mama G.

The movie, ‘James Town’, is expected to blow his career to a higher level.

Umar’s first major in Ghana was Yvonne Nelson’s produced movie, ‘House of Gold’. He played the role of a homosexual and has since described the role as challenging.

He told NEWS-ONE that he took the role because he fell in love with the entire script of ‘House of Gold’. “I wasn’t convinced about playing such a role for my first movie because of what people and the public will think about me but the story was good and I took it...I read the script and fell in love with the story. I took script and I accepted the role,” Umar said.

“It was very difficult switching from being a man to a woman for the long days of shooting. It wasn’t easy to let go the character after the movie,” he said.
Umar was one of the finalists selected to represent Ghana in the Spirited Actor reality show held in the United States.
The Spirited Actor, organised by Davies Media Group and Paradise Entertainment, is a show anchored by celebrity acting coach Tracy Moore.
The contestants were chosen from Ghana and Nigeria to compete against each other. Umar happens to be the youngest of them all, yet one of the most outspoken, gifted, hilarious and memorable.
His role in the ‘House of Gold’ promises to live long with him since it is his first movie. Currently all appears to be going well for Umar. He is also doing a project with actress Luckie Lawson on her upcoming reality show dubbed ‘Beyond Beauty.’ He is one of the hosts of the shows.
