The award ceremony, which
was held at the Mövenpick Hotel
in Accra, was also to recognize the leggy actress’ efforts towards the National
Glaucoma Awareness.
She was honored alongside Minister
of Children, Gender and Social Protection Nana Oye Lithur, fashion designer Aisha
Obuobi popularly known as Christie Brown, and Liberian peace activist Leymah
Gbowee, who are also achievers in their various fields of endeavor.

The Printex Gowoman award
is organized by Printex in collaboration with Gowoman magazine and Baileys to
celebrate and recognize women achievers.
It was also used to launch
Printex’s new fabrics and this month’s edition of the Gowoman Magazine.
The ceremony attracted
some of Ghana’s respectable and enterprising women in the creative arts
industry and other sectors of society.

Notable among them were
Akumaa Mama Zimbi, Queen Mother Nanahemaa Adwoa Awindor, Deborah Vanessa, the Tagoe
Sisters, Amanda Jissah and a host of others.
There were interesting
performances by Efya with Lydia Forson as the MC of the evening of women. There
were fashion displays by some rising designers and also designs by Deborah
Vanessa.
