Zeal of VIP |
Zeal
dropped his first single, ‘Human Gyata’
on YFM’s last Wednesday on Sammy Forson’s mid-morning show.
Listening
to the lyrics in the song, it is obvious the
man, whose beard has started
making the headlines, seems to be talking to some faceless persons in the music
industry.
Describing
himself as ‘Human Gyata’, to wit human lion, he says, “…If you try me you go
fall…I be Human Gyata. Don’t try me. They called the King of the jungle…they
tried they tried many times, they failed they failed thousands times. Try me
and you would be strangled…” in the new song.
Even
though the singer is yet to explain his lyrics, some critics said his lyrics were
warning the numerous sexy ladies out there known for disturbing male
celebrities.
Zeal’s
release follows what has been a new dawn in the camp of VIP.
The
group members reportedly agreed to do their individual singles under the
umbrella of VIP, as another strategy to step up a different branding for VIP.
Prodigal
was the first to release his single titled ‘DJs’,
which is doing ok on the music scene. Promzy
is also reportedly waiting to release his song.
Zeal’s
‘Human Gyata’ was produced by Masta
Garzy.
Zeal’s
contribution to VIP is enormous just as the other members. Over the past 10 years, VIP has sold over
five million records, making the group one of the best selling recording
artistes in Africa.
It is
made up of Zeal (Abdul Hamid Ibrahim), Promzy (Emmanuel Promzy Ababio) and
Prodigal (Joseph Nana Ofori). They are described as a charismatic trio which has
revolutionized the African music industry by creating award-winning
compositions that blend High Life, Hip Hop and traditional African music.
VIP’s
dedication to artistic innovation has resulted in record-breaking recognition
with a list of esteemed accolades including countless international awards,
multiple city tours and performances.
