self-produced movie, ‘The Contract’, directed by Shirley Frimpong Manson, had
six nominations in the following categories: the ‘AMAA 2013 Prize For Best
Director’, ‘AMAA 2013 Prize For Best Actress In A Leading Role’, ‘AMAA 2013
Prize For Best Actor In A Leading Role’, ‘AMAA 2013 Prize For Achievement In
Screenplay’, ‘AMAA 2013 Prize For Achievement In Editing’ and ‘AMAA 2013 Prize
For Achievement In Production Design.’

Forson, who witnessed the AMAA nomination party in Malawi, last Friday, tweeted
at Yvonne, “Congratulations to @yvonneokoro The Contract had 6 nominations including Best Actor and Actress
in a Lead role and Best Director!”
“Kudos to my girl, @yvonneokoro; 6 (six) nominations at AMAA And it’s only her first
production...ContractIsTheISh woohoooooo,”
popular TV anchor Nana Aba Anamoah also tweeted.
The likes of Amanda Jissih, Juliet
Ibrahim, Majid Michel, Prince David Osei, Sandra Ankobiah, D Black, and Alexis
Ntsiakoh, host of Today’s Woman, among others, have all congratulated the
actress for making Ghana proud.
It would have been a no-show affair for
Ghana’s movie industry at this year’s AMAAs had it not been for Yvonne’s ‘Contract’
and a short film titled, ‘Kwaku Ananse’. ‘Kwaku Ananse’ had one nomination in
Best Short film category.
