Some of Ghana’s iconic female celebrities will be honoured at the 2012 edition of Ghana Association of Women Entrepreneurs (GAWE) awards.

The award ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 10 at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra and it is expected to be a glamorous one as it will bring together Ghana’s most celebrated female icons.       
GAWE is an association of self-employed women manufacturers and exporters of goods and services in Ghana. It is a non-governmental, non-profit making organization formed in 1991 and formally registered as a company limited by guarantee in 1993.

 It is also an affiliate of the African Federation of Women Entrepreneurs (AFWE),   established by 25 African countries including Ghana through the initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
The association will be rewarding hardworking female celebrities who are active in business.
The award ceremony is part of a four-day women’s conference dubbed, 18th WASME International Conference. GAWE is hosting this year’s event on behalf of the World Association of Small Medium Enterprises (WASME).
Among the list of Ghanaian female celebrities who will be awarded on the night are actresses Yvonne Okoro, Yvonne Nelson, Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, Becca and a number of others.

JJ Bunny’s High Budget Gambian Movie Hits Ghana

Actress JJ Bunny’s Gambian movie project titled ‘Groom’s Bride’, featuring some award-winning Gambian actors and Ghanaian lead actors Majid Michel and Jackie Appiah, will hit Ghanaian silver-screens this month.  The movie will be premiered at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra on June 29 via a grand red carpet ceremony, which is anticipated to bring visiting actors to town. The movie was directed by Frank Rajah for Abdul Salam’s Venus Film Production. The movie, shot last year, is Venus’ first movie in Gambia. Venus is yet to answer critics why the production was done in Gambia.   JJ Bunny came down from her Houston base last November for the movie in Ghana. After the movie, she travelled to Ghana. She has since remained in Africa as she has been bombarded with movie scripts. She has been described as a Nollywood US A-List actress residing in the United States.
