Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown shocked music audience at the Accra
International Conference Center on Saturday night when she put up a spectacular
music performance during the Legends and Legacy Ball held to honour Abranie
Amakye Dede.
McBrown
earned a standing ovation when, during her performance, she was joined on stage
by two of Ghana’s ‘diminutive’ actors, Joe Shortingo and Taller of Cantata fame.
The two actors were dressed in black tuxedos and they sprayed the actress with
money while she rocked the stage.
Even
her ex-lover, Okyeame Kwame had no choice but to enjoy the performance.
Prior
to the show, the list of artistes advertised to perform included Freddy Meiway,
Samini, Okyeame, Nacy, Kwabena Kwabena and number others.
The
audience was therefore shocked when midway into the show, actress Nana Ama
McBrown appeared on stage wearing a see-through lacey outfit and singing Amakye
Dede’s ‘Asem Tu Mea Ka Bi Ma Me’.
Underneath
McBrown’s black see-through lace was a black mini dress to cover her sexy
breast and lower part but revealing her sexy tummy.
Many
thought she was on stage to perform her recent single with 2toff. But she
followed the trend of the night when she sang in key and did an amazing rendition
of Amakye Dede’s song
McBrown
arguably stole the show from the headlined artistes as she rocked beyond
everybody’s expectation. She had her set of dancers, an indication that she
might be crossing over to the music industry soon.
Her
performance was not only top notch but a total deviation from the usual
Ghanaian musicians’ attitude of just going on stage to perform without giving
the audience something to talk about.
There
were also exciting performances by Samini, Okyeame Kwame, Nacy, No Tribe, Kwabena
Kwabena, Eazzy, Becca, Daasebre Ahofe Dwamena, Steve Bedi, Meiway and Abrantie
Amakye Dede himself.
Organized
by Imajin Advertising, the Legends and Legacy Ball is an event aimed at
honouring Ghanaian living legends and promoting excellence in the entertainment
industry.
All
the supporting artistes who performed at the event did not sing their own songs
but performed their own renditions of songs by the honoree of the night, Amakye
Dede.
Abrantie,
as part of his awards for the night, was presented with a 24-carat gold medal
worth $28,000. The presentation was done by the organizers of the event,
Imanjin Advertising.
In
addition, the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) also presented a plaque to
Abrantie.
Abrantie
expressed his appreciation to the organizers of the show, Imajin Advertising
and to Ghanaians for the honour bestowed on him and for supporting him to
achieve the heights he had reached.
