sources confirmed that Chief Dele Momodu had been busy clamouring for votes for
Yvonne Okoro. He urged all his friends to vote for the actress who on Monday
evening returned to Ghana from a business trip to the UK.
Chief
Momodou had reportedly extended his support to BlackBerry, asking everybody to
support by voting “NEA 20 Yvonne Okoro” to 32051 all networks in Nigeria for her
to win.
Reports
said online voting would begin on August 1, while only fans in Nigeria could
vote via SMS now.
Meanwhile,
Yvonne is highly tipped for the award not just because she has an influential
and great fan base but because of her looks that complement a Pan African image
alongside her great deliveries in movies.
Currently,
she is one of the most sought-after Ghanaian actresses in Africa. She is
co-winner of the Best Actress Award at the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards and was
African Movie Academy Awards nominee twice.
She
was a few months ago honoured with a Distinguished Achievement Award at the 2012
Nigeria Excellence Awards in Ghana chaired by His Excellency, Ambassador
Musiliu Obanikoro, Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana.
