Popular Ghanaian Music Group, VIP Missing @ Vodafone Ghana Music Awards

VIP, the 2011 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, was conspicuously missing at the 2012 edition because it was not invited by event organizers Charterhouse for rather suspicious reasons.
NEWS-ONE can confirm that though VIP had a Toronto tour, the group had to put the programme on hold and fly to Ghana two days to the awards because it had anticipated that being the 2011 Artiste of the Year, it would be invited to the 2012 edition.
The members of the group were however conspicuously missing from the special guest list dais and were not even invited as observers. They were simply snubbed by Charterhouse.
Reports said Charterhouse did not invite VIP to the awards night though they invited the group for the award’s launch at Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra some months back.
Charterhouse is yet to give an official reason why the main award winners of the 2011 edition did not take part in this year’s show.
It is not certain if the group had made any public pronouncement which Charterhouse was not comfortable with and therefore blacklisted it but it is public knowledge VIP was one of the top music icons that pulled out of the awards ceremony this year at the eleventh hour.
