It was all fun at the La Beach Hotel in Accra last Friday night when Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei launched his P.D.O fashion collections, code-named Snipperdee Wear.
The ceremony was the actor’s way of giving back to the society that contributed to his success. The occasion was therefore used to raise funds for his PDO foundation to help the needy in society.
A similar event is expected to take place outside Ghana very soon. Friday’s event was not just exciting but amazing. Present were the crème de la crème of Ghana’s movie industry who made special appearances on the catwalk to support ‘The Dead ‘actor.
Among them were Kalsum Sinare, Vivian Achor, Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah, Leila Djansi, Luckie Lawson, Nikki Samonas, Helen Asante, Rana, D Black and Azigiza.
Comedians David Oscar and Funny Face were emcees of the night. Music sensations Rana, Chase, Atumpan and St. Riya took the audience on a music journey with performances of their hit tracks.
They got the audience singing along and nodding to the beats in comfort of their seats.
Funny Face and David Oscar were awesome as they entertained the audience with some of their jokes.
There were other designers who displayed some of their lines, with known models from the Exopa modeling Agency on the catwalk.
The icing on the cake was when Osei’s collections were introduced on the runway.
Actors Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Kofi Adjorlolo, Fred Nuamah, James Gardner and Osei popped up on the runway as the models displaying the P.D.O collection.
The stars strutted their stuff and boogied on the runway.
Later that night, Kofi Adjorlolo told the audience that it had been long since he modeled; hence it was a happy moment for him to be on the runway.
The event was described as one of the best things that happened to Osei in the year 2011.
Osei is one of Ghana’s it stars. Most fans also consider him the face of Ghana’s movie industry on the international scene following his recent role in ‘The Dead’, a Hollywood standard West African-set Zombie feature film written and directed by Howard J. Ford and Jon Ford.
He has over 60 movies to his credit.
