Ghana Stars Need Votes @ http://www.screennation.net/public-vote/.

It is barely a month more for selected Ghanaian filmmakers to make the country proud on an international film platform at this year’s UK Screen Nation Awards.
The award has been at the forefront of acknowledging the best in Black British talent for over seven years and this year’s edition is scheduled for October 16 in London at the O2 Indigo.
Two Ghanaian actresses, Ama K Abebrese and Jackie Appiah, have been nominated for Favourite West African Actress alongside Nigeria’s Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Mercy Johnson and Funke Akindele.
Again, Ghanaian actors Majid Michel and John Dumelo also got nominated for Favourite West African Actor. They are in the category with Nollywood giants Osita Iheme, Ramsey Nouah, Mike Ezuruonye and Hakeem Kae Kazim of ‘Pirates of Caribbean’ fame.
Also, ‘Sinking Sands’,  directed by top Ghanaian director Leila Djansi and Shirley Frimpong Manso’s ‘Perfect Picture’ have been nominated to compete with  Ije’, ‘The Mirror Boy’, ‘Inale’ and ‘The Figurine’ from Nigeria.
Winning the above awards also depends on public voting and Ghanaians who wish to stand by their stars can vote for them by visiting the website http://www.screennation.net/public-vote/.
Indications are that a lot of Nigerians are voting, therefore if the Ghanaian stars and movies do not get more votes, the Nigerians will most likely sweep all the awards.
The Screen Nation Awards was founded by renowned film producer, Charles Thompson MBE.
Hosted by husband and wife team Angellica Bell and Michael Underwood, the caliber of this year’s recipients promises to be exceptional.
In the past, it nominated and honoured top names as Horace Ove, Will Smith, Eamonn Walker, Spike Lee, Danny Glover, Floella Benjamin, Angela Bassett, Nia Long, Rudolph Walker, Queen Latifah, and still counting.
This year, Gabby Sidibe, Kimberley Elise, Monique, Paula Patton and Zoe Saldana have also been nominated for Favourite Female Screen Personality (US Film/TV).
The rest included Anthony Mackie, Denzel Washington, Hill Harper, Michael K. Williams and Tyler Perry who are also competing for Favourite Male Screen Personality (US Film/TV).
Other categories of the award include Favourite International Film (US), Favourite Male TV Star, Favourite Female TV Star and other special honors.
