Yvonne Nelson’s Single & Married Wins GMA Best Movie

  Star actress Yvonne Nelson’s produced movie, Single & Married, was the movie that the jury of prestigious Ghana movie awards has named as its 2012 best movie, out of the hundreds of entries it received for last year’s awards ceremony.
The movie won four significant awards including the Best Picture award which is otherwise referred to as Best film award.

The other categories it won included Best Cinematography, Best Actress In supporting Role picked by Anita Erskine and Best Directing in English Language picked by director Pascal Amanfo.
The 2012 Ghana movie award was held amidst controversies at the Conference Centre on Christmas Day, December 25.
It attracted music performances from Ghana’s FBS, Nigeria’s Iyanya and others.
The show brought together a number of household names in the African movie industry to the Conference Centre in Accra.  
Top actors Van Vicker and Nadia Buari won Best Actor & Actress in Leading Role In English Language awards. Nana Ama McBrown also took best actress in local language with kid actor, Rahim Banda winning Best Actor In Supporting Role In English Language.
