Alice Ganda |
A 24- year-old Sierra Leonean model, Alice Ganda,
was the beautiful model adjudged winner of the September edition of Exopa New
Faces contest last Saturday.
She beat nine other contestants to emerge winner
after different rounds of interesting catwalk and fashion displays as well as talent
performances. Her fierce catwalk and confidence surpassed that of her colleague
wannabe models.
Behind her were Ghanaian model Rebecca Agbolosoo
Mensah, a 24-year-old graduate of the University of Education; and a19-year-old
Sierra Leonean model, Masery Sesay, who took first and second runners-up
respectively.
The show, as usual, took place at the Exopa Burg
behind the Zenith College. It attracted quite a number of modelling and fashion
enthusiasts but not like the other editions.
Unlike the previous month’s show, Saturday’s contest
did not involve male models but the show lived up to its billing.
It started at about 10pm with a performance by an
upcoming artiste called T.O.P, to pave the way for the models who hit the
runway in African mini wears.
During the talent show, most of the models danced
while a few sang.
The winners have a contract with the Exopa Modelling
Agency and other juicy packages including cover page articles in NEWS-ONE and
spotlight exposure on Metro TV’s Allo TiGo.
The event will continue every last Saturday of the
month at the Exopa Burg where the event always takes place. The show is
expected to be more exciting in the coming months.
