Van Vicker has denied reports making the rounds that he cautioned actress Tonto Dikeh about her smoking habit, which allegedly lead to a fight on set.
Van said nothing of such happened, according to publicist, Anil Tahilramani.
“Van said nothing happened. It is not true. Everything detailed in that story was not true. It is just a ploy to mar the good relationship
between them,” he told NEWS-ONE yesterday. The rumour of their alleged fight started from Nigerian media. Tonto Dikeh and Ghanaian actor Van Vicker were reportedly rehearsing their lines separately, contrary to the normal coming together for rehearsal before shoot.
The movie director stepped in to try and make them rehearse together, but his presence got Tonto infuriated so she started throwing a tantrum.
The situation worsened when Tonto lit her cigarette and started puffing, with Van Vicker telling her politely to stop or smoke outside.
Tonto took that to be an insult, so she started insulting Van Vicker by using unprintable words.
According to sources, it took the timely intervention of the cast and crew on set before Tonto could be calmed, as she threatened to hit Van Vicker with the table by the side.
But Van’s publicist has denied that story in its entirety.
